Scholarship Tips

Don't get passed over because of a sloppy application!

Your scholarship application represents you as a student and a professional. To put it simply, it helps us determine who gets the money. Here are some suggestions to make your application more professional:

Preparation

Copy of High School Transcript (New College Students only)
Copy of Transfer transcripts (New Transfer Students only)
A Resume (if available)
Name of the department you will be enrolled in for the next school year.
Name of major you will be enrolled in for the next school year.

Grammar and punctuation

Type in all capital letters
Type in all lower case letter
Spell out word including acronyms (U.S.D.A)
Use text language (LOL, OMG, BRB).
Reread your application before continuing.
Use dropdowns when available.

Complete your application

Spend time on your biography as this is the donors chance to see your personality and background.
Fill out everything that applies to you.
Leave as few blanks as possible.
Be factual.

Awards, Activities & Honors

Place you top honors and achievements first.
Be concise.
Use activities and honors that are less than 5 years old
Consider your audience.
